Steffen Peters and Ravel – Individual Bronze
Saturday, October 2, 2010 | Posted by Mary Phelps
If ever there was the epitome of a class act in every sense of the word it is America’s USA team veteran Steffen Peters. For the first time in the history of the World Equestrian Games the USA Steffen Peters and the amazing Ravel sired by America’s Iron Spring Farm stallion, Contango.
Owned by Akiko Four Winds Farm, the Yamazaki family, founders of Yahoo, Ravel and his rider had the performance of a lifetime. In the Grand Prix Freestyle Peters ramped up the music and degree of difficulty developed by Freestyle maestro Terry Gallo.
In his victory round, Peters removed his top hat and donned a GPA helmet in honor of his Olympic Teammate Courtney King Dye who he dedicated his ride to. Courtney, recovering miraculously from a severe head trauma sustained in March, was in the stands to witness it all.
