In the Grand Prix Freestyle, the dynamic duo of the CDI arena this weekend, Steffen Peters and Sue Blinks, once again shared the limelight as Champion and Reserve.
In the Grand Prix Freestyle, Prince filled Peters’ dance card, while Robin Hood shared Blinks’ card. It was standing room only as the Grand Prix Freestyles began.
Prince, a 17 hand gelding owned by DG Bar Ranch and Willie Arts, put in a solid performance with beautiful piaffe work, which is his specialty for a 72 percent. Blinks took advantage of venue to expose Robin Hood a 10 year old Dutch gelding by Jazz to the lively crowd.
The horse was a bit enamored of the setting early in the ride, but settled as he progressed to perform for a respectable 69 percent from the international jury. Lorraine Chappell and Carpatino of Canada were third, and Shannon Peters and Luxor were fourth.
