Olympic veteran Guenter Seidel’s brilliant riding brought out the best in his longtime partner Foltaire, the KWPN gelding by Voltaire, owned by Richard and Jane Brown, to win the Grand Prix Freestyle under the lights at Bad Honnef Dressage tonight. Blinks and Flim Flam were a late scratch opting to rest before the long trip back to the United States on Monday. With his mother and brother looking on, the German native Seidel hit the magic 70.35% to top a small class of nine entries with fellow Americans Dover and Rainier finishing third with a 68.56% and Kathleen Raine and Fidelia, seventh with a 65.07%. International rider from Italy, Pia Laus and Elliot 35 was second with a 69.33%.
