In the much anticipated retirement ceremony held between the two divisions on Sunday, Joe Zada’s Custom Made and David O’Connor took center stage in front of a crowd of over 17,000 people.

Earlier in the week, Karen and David O’Connor announced their upcoming book, “Life in the Galloping Lane” with Nancy Jaffer, published by Prime Media. “I can handle the microphone now,” predicted David. “But on Sunday when I retire ‘Tailor’ I know I won’t be able to speak.”

Tailor had been available to meet the crowds all week at the Trade Fair next to the Prime Media booth, and during his retirement ceremony, took several laps around the stadium course, where David threw in a couple of stadium jumps, and Tailor threw a shoe.

His blanket had a list of all the events that he won, including two Olympic Games, an individual 5th in Atlanta in 1996, and the Individual Gold Medal in Sydney in 2000. The O’Connor’s will continue to share this amazing horse with their fans in demonstrations throughout the country. And, be sure to get the book, coming out in June, at TheEquineCollection.com.
