FEI Driving World Championship Four-in-Hand 2024 – What You Need To Know

Szilvásvárad (HUN) is the host the FEI Driving World Championship Four-in-Hand from September 4 to 8, 2024. The line-up has been confirmed, with 43 athletes and 215 horses representing 14 nations ready to compete for the 2024 Individual and Team World titles on Hungarian soil.

26th FEI Driving World Championships for Four-in-Hands

The first FEI Driving World Championship was held in 1972 in Münster (GER), with 18 participants from 6 nations. Swiss athlete Auguste Dubey claimed individual gold, and Great Britain earned team gold. The FEI Driving World Championships have been held every two years since 1972, making this the 26th edition.

A Sport That Spans All Ages

This year, a remarkable diversity in the age range of participants, with 47 years separating the youngest and first-time World Championship competitor, 19-year-old Péter Juhász (HUN), from 66-year-old James Fairclough (USA), who will be taking part in his FEI Driving Four-in-Hand World Championship!

The full roster of countries participating in the upcoming FEI Driving World Championship Four-in-Hand is as follows: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States of America.

  • From 10:00 to 12:00: First horse inspection for the FEI World Championship.
  • Followed by the Declaration of Starters
  • 14:30: Chefs d’Equipe Meeting
  • 17:00: Opening Ceremony
  • 19:30: Welcome Party

Thursday 5 September 2024

  • 10:00: Dressage Competition Day 1

Friday 6 September 2024

  • 10:00: Dressage Competition Day 2

Saturday 7 September 2024

  • 10:00: Marathon

Sunday 8 September 2024

  • 10:00: Cones Competition
  • 15:30: Prize Giving and Medal Ceremony
