The world famous Dutch rider Anky van Grunsven is competing at the FEI European Championships Aachen 2015. However, this time the three-time Olympic dressage gold medallist and two-time World Champion will be in a Western saddle wearing a cowgirl hat. Together with Jurgen Pouls, Olivier van den Berg and Rieky Young, she is now a member of the Dutch reining team.

In addition to her gold medal dressage career, she has been successfully participating in reining competitions since 2009. The 47-year-old competed at the CHIO Aachen the last time as a dressage rider in the Deutsche Bank Preis in the year 2004 and in the Lambertz Nations’ Cup with the Dutch team in 2005. Will Anky be able to repeat her victories of past years in Aachen as a reiner? On Friday, August 14th, a European Reining Team will claim the European Championship title in the Deutsche Bank Stadium. This competition is also the first qualifier for the individual medals. The final of the individual competiton, the “HAVENS Pferdefutter Prize”, is scheduled for Sunday, August 16th.
