Dedicated to the development of the Pure Spanish (PRE) Horse in America

With her love of horses and the sport of Dressage, Kimberly VanKampen recognized the value of breeding horses in America. Still, it was not the European bloodlines of the Hanoverian, Oldenburg, or Trakehner being imported by the plane load that appealed to her. Her education and fascination with the horse’s role in history through the centuries led her to the Pura Raza Española. A Spanish horse whose breeding line was cultivated by Carthusian monks in the Middle Ages, a baroque horse, intelligent, spirited but well-balanced and eager to learn.

And so it began: the birth of Hampton Green Farm and VanKampen’s passion and dedication to preserving and cultivating a breed with beauty, character, and ability. She knew PRE Horses were of Olympic caliber and proved their right to be among the most splendid horses at the highest levels of Olympic Dressage Sport. Yet this intelligent, comfortable horse could bring joy and fulfillment with any ease in temperament and a work ethic attainable for amateur and young human athletes.

As her program evolved, Van Kampens’s business sense, vision, and ability to recognize where Dressage Sport in America needed to grow, she applied her skills and resources by creating Discover Dressage, a 501C program “To inspire and encourage American youth to discover dressage, to inspire lifelong learning and success, to promote healthy competition and advance the accessibility of the sport of dressage to all areas of the U.S.

From Michigan to Wellington and then finding her ultimate nesting place in Ocala, Florida, the Horse Capital of the World, Hampton Green Farm entered a new phase in 2024. New arrivals of her latest imports, proudly shared with her passionate partners in Spain, bring the next level of excellence to the finest lime-based soil unique to only three regions in the world: Kentucky, France, and her farm in Ocala.
