Andrew Counsell Appointed to the FEI Driving Committee

FEI level 4 Judge Andrew Counsell from Great Britain has been appointed by the FEI Board as the new member of the FEI Driving Committee.

Counsell takes the seat of Joaquin Medina Garcia, who was elected as Chairman of the FEI Driving Committee in November at the FEI Generals Assembly in Mexico City.

Andrew Counsell has been a judge in the carriage driving world since 1986 judging at all levels including many European-and World Championships and World Equestrian Games. Andrew is also the Driving Director at Royal Windsor Horse Show since 2019.

A professional educator, as principal of the Duchy College in Cornwall, Counsell became a national driving trials official and an FEI international driving judge in 2006.

He has now officiated at over 160 international events, including 19 World Championships and World Equestrian Games.

During his time in the college he chaired an RDA group and became a national RDA Driving instructor and inspector. Andrew is now chair of British Carriage Driving.

Andrew’s passion for driving and education will bring a new dimension to the USA Driving Community. It is our goal in creating this event we will develop a plan for continued  educational opportunities on multiple levels of our sport.
