Nifty Hamilton Speeds Through Marathon to Maintain Lead in Kentucky

Lexington, KY – Saturday concluded the marathon and second phase of competition for the 2017 USEF Single Horse Combined Driving National Championship at the Kentucky Classic CDE. Nifty Hamilton (Alva, Fla.) and Makari Design expertly navigated the obstacles of the marathon course to a clear round, winning the second phase with 86.97 points. After the marathon and dressage phases, Hamilton remains in the lead with a cumulative score of 140.46 points.

Leslie Berndl (Newcastle, Calif.) and Uminco hold the second position after a clear round in the marathon with 96.08 points and a combined total of 150.96 points. Donna Crookston (Saltsburg, Pa.) and Viktor completed the marathon with 90.93 points and closely follow Berndl in the third position with a combined total of 151.94. Daphne White (Durango, Colo.) and Halstead by Legacy earned 109.30 points in the marathon, closing the day in the fifth position with a combined total of 171.01 points
