The Dressage Champions of Aachen Steffen Peters and Ravel had a clean sweep making history as the first US Rider to achieve such heights on German soil. OK so the Germans would like some credit for their native son, but Peters (44) who came to America at the age of twenty, has now been in the United States more than half his life, and has said his “heart is with America.”

While influenced by his trainer Johann Hinnemann, Peters has Americanized his own riding style with relaxation and harmony, which was rewarded by the judges.
