U.S. Reining Set to Begin for 2012

Lexington, KY – International reining competition in the U.S. kick-offs in April and will include four senior CRIs and two CRI-Ys for Junior and Young Riders. Beginning in Katy, TX with the National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) CRI2* on April 20, the country’s top riders next travel to Lexington, KY for the Ariat Kentucky Reining Cup CRI3*.
Running concurrently with the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by Bridgestone at the Kentucky Horse Park, April 26-28, this competition will once again feature the World Reining Freestyle Championship. Senior riders return to the Alltech Arena in July to contest the Adequan/USEF Open Reining Championship. Wrapping up the competition calendar is the Ariat Tulsa Reining Classic CRI3*, August 29-September 2 in Tulsa, OK. Competition for Junior and Young Riders heats up June 30, at the National Reining Horse Association Derby in Oklahoma City, OK as the Adequan/USEF Youth Reining Championship and NAJYRC Selection Trial CRI-Y takes place. Less than a month later, the top Junior and Young Riders will compete for FEI medals at the Adequan FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North in Lexington, KY, July 17-22.
