While bouquets of roses were given out to the best horses in each division during the Arabian Horse Association Sport Horse Nationals in Nampa, ID, one mare made quick work of capturing the eyes and hearts of all that came upon her. Quick Lady and her amateur handler came out on top and took home the coveted Vita Flex Victory Pass Award.

Patricia Hough and Quick Lady, an eight-year-old Half Arab mare took home three champion titles and one reserve champion title over the course of the weekend. Quick Lady is owned by Lindsey O’Keefe, who is also the breeder and trainer. O’Keefe competed the mare in 3rd Level Dressage taking a Top Ten, Half Arabian Sport Horse In Hand Mare Dressage Type Open taking Unanimous Champion, Half Arabian Sport Horse Show Hack Open taking Unanimous Champion, and in the Half Arabian Sport Horse Under Saddle Dressage Type Open coming in Reserve champion. This talented mare was also shown by Rachel Davis-Heintz to Top Ten awards in Half Arabian Mares In Hand Hunter Type both Open and Amateur.

Hough is no stranger to the world of Arabian Nationals as this is her fourth trip to the big ring, but she was still surprised to win the Vita Flex Victory Pass for their wins in the Half Arabian Mare In Hand Dressage Type Amateur Handler, Unanimous Half Arabian Sport Horse Under Saddle Dressage Type Amateur Rider, and Unanimous Half Arabian Sport Horse Show Hack Amateur Rider National Championships. “This award was so much fun because it was a total surprise to me!” said Hough.
