USPRE – sponsored FEI rider Sabine Schut-Kerry and Rhea Scott’s Marques did their first National Prix St. Georges during the Mid Winter CDI in Burbank. They won the class with a 68.421%. Of Marques, Sabine says: “Imported from Spain in late 2009, Marques came to me in 2010. Marques has three beautiful gaits and is extremely talented, athletic, sensible and eager to work. He is a bit of a genius and is independent like a cat in his personality, which makes it very fun and interesting to work with. At just seven years old he shows all the talent and ability for the Grand Prix movements, with especially beautiful piaffe and passage work. We are very excited about Marques’ future in the competition ring.”Last December, Marques and Sabine were invited to ride under the eye of USEF’s National Developing Coach Debbie McDonald at the 2011 National Convention and Symposium on December 3-4 in Del Mar, California. Sabine, with Marques, is the recipient of the 2012 USPRE Dressage Scholarship for Professional Riders.
