Lexington, KY – August 19, 2014 – Pablo Barrios has all but wrapped up the $50,000 Leading Rider Bonus in Hagyard Challenge Series, but the race for the $10,000 bonus being awarded to the second place finisher is just heating up. Barrios and Antares captured the top prize during Friday’s $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic, which coupled with three other wins gives him a clear lead in the standings.However, Friday’s second place finisher Ramiro Quintana is just 150 points away from Ireland’s Shane Sweetnam in the standings. Sweetnam took home the victory during the Kentucky Summer Classic, but Quintana’s consistent efforts have also kept him in the running for the second place spot and a chance for $10,000. The Hagyard Challenge Series is a summer-long series of seven show jumping events at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. The rider who accumulates the most points in the series will receive a $50,000 Leading Rider Award, presented during the Kentucky National Horse Show in September. New this year, the runner up will earn a $10,000 prize for their efforts in the Series. The sixth event in the series will be this Friday during the KHJA Horse Show at the Kentucky Horse Park.Hagyard Equine Medical Institute is one of the oldest and largest equine veterinary practices in the world.
