Meagan Davis Ready to Compete in the FEI World Cup Dressage Final for Young Riders

Lexington, KY – The FEI World Cup Dressage Final for Young Riders will begin Wednesday, December 15, with the veterinary inspection. U.S. representative Meagan Davis arrived in Frankfurt, Germany on Sunday with the 17-year-old Danish Warmblood, Bentley, who is being housed at Schafhof, the stables of Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff. Since settling in Davis and Bentley have worked lightly twice a day with coach Lendon Gray and are feeling fit and ready to compete on Thursday. In preparation for the show Bentley will make the move to the show-grounds at Frankfurt Festhalle today. This will be 21-year-old Davis’ first competition overseas, having qualified for the trip by having the highest average (with two scores to count) in the FEI Young Rider Freestyle Test in CDI-Y competitions during 2010. The 2010 FEI World Cup Dressage Final for Young Riders will feature 14 of the world’s finest Young Riders representing 14 different countries. Competition will begin on Thursday with the FEI Young Rider Team Test (Prix St. Georges), which will serve as a warm-up. Friday will see the FEI Young Rider Individual test. The top seven combinations from the individual test will then go on to compete in the FEI Young Rider Freestyle test A-final on Saturday, with the remaining combinations riding in Sunday’s FEI Young Rider Freestyle test B-final. The winner of the FEI World Cup Dressage Final for Young Riders will be the winner of the Freestyle test A-final.
