Martin Dockx and Malagueno Make Magic in Madrid

Double-Olympian, Jose Daniel Martin Dockx, delighted his home crowd when steering the 13-year-old PRE stallion Malagueno Lxxxiii to victory in the fourth leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2023/2024 Western European League in Madrid (ESP).

The Spanish partnership’s score of 80.870 pinned yesterday’s Grand Prix winning duo of Germany’s Matthias Alexander Rath and Destacado FRH into runner-up spot when they put 79.720 on the board, while the final pair of the day, Spain’s Beatriz Ferrer-Salat and Elegance, slotted into third on a mark of 78.425.
This was only the second time that Dockx and Malagueno Lxxxiii performed a freestyle together.
Fourth place went to Morgan Barbancon and Sir Donnerhall ll OLD and this result has moved the French rider into second place on the League table behind longtime leader Patrik Kittel from Sweden.
Next stop in the 11-leg series is London (GBR) in three weeks time.
