She has a degree in Chemical Engineering, but since the age of three, Tara Rena Stegen has been hooked on horses, and a life with horses is the career choice for the 28-year-old former NAYRC Individual Silver Medallist. Tara has moved a far across the continental United States as one can, from her home state of Washington, to Wellington, Florida to develop her business.

If there was a graduate school for Dressage Riders, then you could say Stegen has earned her Masters Degree, after years in training with Robert Dover, and an extended stay in Holland at Anky Van Grunsven’s barn, training with Sjef Janssen.

With two FEI level horses in competition, and a talent for working with young horses, Stegen is off to a good start, choosing to spend the summer of 2002 getting settled in her new year-round home, fine tuning her horses for the 2003 winter season, and building a roster of students.
