Jonathan Corrigan Goes Double Clear in Thursday’s Open Jumper 1.30m at 2023 Old Salem Farm

Ireland’s Jonathan Corrigan and Twin Oaks Ventures LLC’s Active X Van Olland.Biz Z took to the winner’s circle at the 2023 Old Salem Farm September Horse Shows on Thursday following their foot-perfect performance in the Open Jumper 1.30m. They tripped the timers on the fastest double-clear round in 31.299 seconds.
The Old Salem Farm September Horse Shows, September 12-17, September 19-24 and September 27-October 1, host competitions for riders of all levels and ages, ranging from young children on ponies to top Grand Prix stars aboard their up-and-coming mounts.

Corrigan and Active X Van Olland.Biz Z finished the second phase of Ken Krome’s Open Jumper 1.30m track 1.5 seconds faster than their fellow competitors, claiming top honors in a time of 31.299 seconds. McLain Ward (USA) placed second with Beechwood Stables LLC’s Cenmietta PS in 32.722 seconds, while Alexa Elle Lignelli (USA) earned third in 34.819 seconds aboard Skyline Sporthorses LLC’s Fayuri AWR.
Earlier in the day, Peter Lutz (USA) blazed to the top of the leaderboard with Graylish LLC’s Carlotta 249 in the Open Jumper 1.20m, putting in a fault-free second-phase time of 32.008 seconds. Giraldo Abreu (CUB) and his own Hollywood VK were second for their time of 35.015 seconds. Ashley Baker (USA) finished third in 35.430 seconds with her own Funny Girl.
Champions Crowned
Several champions were crowned in the hunter rings throughout the day, including Performance 3’6” Hunter Champion HH Eagle Scout, owned by Free Solo LLC and ridden by Quentin Judge of Wellington, FL. Lee Kellogg Sadrian’s Blink earned the Performance 3’3” Hunter Championship with Jennifer Bauersachs of Frenchtown, NJ, in the irons. In the Combined Green 3’3”-3’6”-3’9” Hunter, Stephanie Bulger of Bridgehampton, NY, and her own Chief brought home the championship.
Located just one hour north of New York City, Old Salem Farm has a long history of hosting world-class horse shows. Over the years, Old Salem Farm has hosted the Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows, United States Olympic Team Selection Trials, FEI World Cup™ qualifiers, FEI North American Youth Championships and ASPCA Maclay Regional Finals.
Weekly Action
The Old Salem Farm September Horse Shows kicked off with a USEF ‘National-4’ rating for hunters and jumpers September 12-17, followed by USEF ‘National-2’ September 19-24 and September 27-October 1. Each week’s action starts daily at 8:00 a.m. with classes running simultaneously in three beautifully manicured rings throughout the day. Opening Week highlights included the $10,000 Old Salem Farm Welcome Stake on Friday, September 15, and the $30,000 Old Salem Farm Great Oak Grand Prix on Sunday, September 17.
Weeks 2 (September 19-24) and 3 (September 27-October 1) feature more familiar Old Salem Farm highlights, including the $10,000 Old Salem Farm Jumper Classic each Sunday. There will also be an Old Salem Farm Hunter Derby taking place each Friday (September 15, September 22 and September 29). Week 2 will also include the Zone 2 Maclay Regionals, National Horse Shows 3’3” Hamel Area Championship and THIS Adult Medal Area Championship on Saturday, September 23.
