The United States Equestrian Federation has announced that one rider, Emily Miles will represent the U.S.A with two horses at the 2019 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on 1 – 4 August 2019. Emily (Wagner) represented the US in 2010 with the Stallion Wakeup. She is based in Verdun in preparation for the competition.

Multiple winner with multiple horses since the inception of the Markel/USEF National Young Horse Championships, Miles is headed for the toughest competition of her career as the sole representative for the US.

Based on the scores achieved in the young horse classes in the U.S.A. this spring 2019, one rider qualified and agreed to make the trip across the Atlantic to Ermelo.

For U.S qualifications, the 5- and 6-year-old horses must have earned a minimum score of 8.2 in at least two FEI Preliminary Tests and two FEI Final Tests. For a 7-year-old, the horse must have earned the minimum scores of 75% for the Technical Component and 82% in the quality marking component in at least two FEI Preliminary Tests and two FEI Final Tests.

Only two combinations fully met the selection criteria and will represent the U.S.A. at the World Championships

• Emily Miles – Daily Show, a 5-year old Hanoverian by Danciano x Stockholm, owned by Leslie Waterman – overall average 85.033
