Also taking honors among the dressage crowd was noted judge Marianne Ludwig, who was instrumental in creating the U.S. Dressage Federation’s ‘L’ judges program and several other programs for judges. Ludwig seemed a bit stunned by the honor and expressed sincere gratitude to her friends and colleagues. “What really touches me is that my colleagues nominated me,” she said and added, “but even more, some of you changed your plans and even your plane tickets to be with me tonight.”
