Nanna Skodborg Merrald produced a superb performance from her relatively new ride, Blue Hors Zepter, to win today’s ninth leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2022/2023 Western European League at Neumünster in Germany.

The 29-year-old athlete who was a member of the historic gold-medal-winning Danish team at last summer’s ECCO FEI Dressage World Championships pinned host nation star Ingrid Klimke (Franziskus FRH) into runner-up spot and The Netherlands’ Kirsten Brouwer (Foundation) into third with a winning score of 86.060%.

Today’s result has promoted Skodborg Merrald to third place on the Western European League leaderboard from which the top nine will qualify for the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final 2023 in Omaha (USA) in April.

Klimke lies second while five-time series champion and longtime legend Isabell Werth holds pole position going into next weekend’s penultimate qualifier in Gothenburg, Sweden.
