Canadian Show Jumping Riders Named for North American Junior and Young Rider Championships

Ottawa, ON — Jump Canada has announced the show jumping riders that will represent Canada at the 2010 Adequan FEI North American Junior and Young Riders’ Championship. Presented by Gotham North, these Championships will be held July 28-August 1 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, which is also the site of the upcoming 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
Team and individual honours will be awarded in two divisions for show jumping, Junior (open to riders aged 14 to 18) and Young Riders’ (for riders aged 16-21). The show jumping athletes that will represent Canada are: Young Riders DivisionRider Hometown Horse Owner

The chef d’équipes include Hyde Moffat for the Ontario Junior and Young Riders’ teams, Jonathan Asselin for the Alberta Junior Team, Gail Greenough Alberta Young Riders’ Team and Danae Martin for the Manitoba Young Riders’ Individual. The 2010 edition marks the fifth time that a Junior Championship will be held in conjunction with the Young Riders’ Championship. In 2009, the Ontario Junior Show Jumping Team won the bronze medal in the Junior division while Joelle Froese of Abbotsford, BC, won the individual bronze medal in the Young Riders’ division aboard Condor.
