Brook Ledge Keeps Kentucky Derby Contender Mo Donagal Happy and Healthy

Is Brook Ledge the “Lucky Charm” for the Kentucky Derby? In the past 16 years, Brook Ledge has shipped 13 horses into Churchill Downs who went on the win Horse Racing’s ” Run for The Roses”.

Jerry Crawford, CEO of Donagal Racing wants to keep his horse, Mo Donegal “happy and healthy” as he headed for Louisville, Kentucky after winning the Wood Memorial Stakes Presented by Resorts World Casino (G2) for 3-year-olds April 9 at Aqueduct Racetrack.

And who better to deliver the colt, than Brook Ledge, with driver Tom Valine, on Tom’s birthday. Like all Brook Ledge drivers, Tom is an experienced horseman. A longtime Standardbred trainer, Valine has had his share of wins in his lifetime, before retiring. But like most great horsemen, you really can’t retire, and Valine began working with Brook Ledge, a familiar company with over 50 years in the equine industry.

Valine shipped many a horse on Brook ledge during his racing career, and now he’s delivering Kentucky Derby hopeful Mo Donagal, for Donagal Stables and trainer Todd Pletcher, to Churchill Downs.

With over 43 horses start In the Kentucky Derby, Pletcher has over 4,000 wins over his career and over $311 million in earnings.  He has won the Eclipse award for outstanding Trainer 7 times.

Mo Donegal  is currently ranked fourth in the line up galloping from 26th place after his big win at the Wood Memorial.
