Bram Chardon (NED) has gained the first advantage after competition one in Bordeaux (FRA) with a clear round and winning time of 146.83. He steered a smooth route which set the standard for those who drove after him. Only 0.83 separates the top two and title contender Dries Degrieck (BEL) was also clear, with similar split times to Bram on the course. He crossed the line in 147.66.

Ijsbrand Chardon (NED) followed his son into the arena, the applause still ringing from what had gone before. Although his total of 154.23 included four penalty seconds, he was happy with third and was present at the prize giving and victory parade.

Defending champion Boyd Exell (AUS) was the last to drive but couldn’t match the leaders’ consistency and pace. He added four seconds to his time and totalled 155.59.

Christoph Sandmann (GER) was another who collected a four extra seconds for 163.65; wild card Benjamin Aillaud was first to drive and went clear in 164.38, and Jérôme Voutaz (SUI) added eight to his time for 167.46.

There is no drive-off in the first competition and the positions set the running order in competition two on Sunday afternoon. At the final, 50% of the difference between the leading score and those behind is carried over, and the winner starts on zero. The final drive-off has three drivers.
