Aspiring Dressage Athletes Demonstrate Equitation Skills for Dressage Seat Medal Finals

Wayne, IL – Dressage athletes between the ages of 11 and 18 will compete for the 2017 USEF Dressage Seat Medal Finals on Sunday, August 27. Lamplight Equestrian Center will host the USEF Dressage Seat Medal Finals in conjunction with the Markel/USEF Young & Developing Horse Dressage National Championships and U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions. Held across two divisions, a field of 13 will display their equitation abilities in the 13 & under division, while 10 will follow for the 14-18 division title. On Friday, August 25, both divisions performed their warm-up class to fine-tune elements before Sunday’s official equitation evaluation.

The 2016 USEF Dressage Seat Medal Final 13 & under champion Averi Allen (Pleasant Hill, Mo.) is back to defend her title along with Charlotte Ferguson (Charleston, S.C.), Camille Molton (Mount Pleasant, S.C.), and Abigal Taft (Traverse City, Mich.), who additionally return from 2016. In the 14-18 division, four veteran USEF Dressage Seat Medal Finals participants: Raissa Chunko (Fort Collins, Colo.), Juliet Hess (Atlanta, Ga.), Mackenzie Peer (Overland Park, Kan.), and Kenzie Riddell (Scottsdale, Ariz.).
