Spectacular Success Unveiled in Major League Show Jumping Stage Two! A mesmerizing spectacle unfolded at the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival in Traverse City, Michigan, as the second stage of Major League Show Jumping took the world’s attention.
In a true convergence of excellence, the global show-jumping community gathered in the arena, forging an atmosphere charged with anticipation and excitement. As the stage was set for a remarkable showcase of 5* show jumping prowess, both in individual and team contexts, the competitors did not merely meet expectations – they exceeded them.

In Major League Show Jumping, there are eight teams who are vying for the overall season victory. Tracked by points accumulated in each competition, the teams travel to some of the world’s most prestigious facilities to showcase their talents.
The heart and soul of Major League Show Jumping lies in its team-based format, where eight elite teams contend for the coveted season victory. Each competition becomes a stepping stone towards glory, with points amassed along the way propelling these remarkable teams towards their ultimate triumph.
Amidst this riveting landscape of competition, it was the Trelawyn Trailblazers who emerged as the true titans of the moment, seizing victory in the $270,000 5* Premier Equestrian Team Competition and catapulting themselves into the lead for the illustrious 2023 season. Comprising a triumphant trio of extraordinary talent – Conor Swail, Darragh Kenny, and Lillie Keenan.
Remarkable Feat
In a stunning display of synchrony and finesse, the Trelawyn Trailblazers were the lone ensemble to achieve the remarkable feat of going double-clear, leaving competitors trailing in their wake. The spotlight turned to Conor Swail, who led his team into the captivating jump-off with unparalleled confidence. His impeccable performance culminated in a breathtaking time of 45.89 seconds.
The Trailblazers, now perched proudly at the top, are trailed by the valiant Crusaders in second place and the captivating team Eye Candy in a well-earned third.
Now shifting our focus on the individual competitions, amidst a robust field of 29 accomplished pairings, the dynamic duo of Karl Cook and Kalinka Van’t Zorgvliet emerged triumphant in the exhilarating $414,300 CND MLSJ Grand Prix individual competition.
In a riveting opening round, Cook and Kalinka showcased impressive speed and precision, executing a flawless, fault-free performance in a mere 78.1 seconds – an achievement that stood as the fastest time. Progressing to the jump-off phase, their synergy reached new heights, resulting in a remarkable double-clear performance, the only one in the entire competition!
Cook and Kalinka blazed through the jump-off with unmatched swiftness, clocking a stunning time of 43.47 seconds. This resounding victory not only secured a prestigious win but also delivered a memorable triumph for the United States on an international stage teeming with talent.

Saturday witnessed an impressive display of skill as 31 talented combinations converged upon the esteemed Douglas Elliman GP Stadium in Saugerties, New York. Each partnership held aspirations of clinching the coveted $145,500 FEI CSI3* Grand Prix title, making for a highly anticipated and spirited competition.
Amidst this distinguished gathering, it was Todd Minikus who emerged as the triumphant victor. Guiding the remarkable Amex Z, Minikus blazed through the arena with astonishing speed and precision, completing the demanding jump-off course in an astounding 40.74 seconds. This stellar performance secured their rightful claim to the enviable prize, a testament to their remarkable skill and unyielding determination.
Hot on their heels was Grace Debney, a force to be reckoned with, astride the splendid Jesprit H.S. Their electrifying run in the jump-off clocked in at a mere 41.23 seconds, positioning them as formidable contenders in a closely contested battle for supremacy.
Securing a well-deserved spot on the podium was Carl Anthony, whose partnership with the magnificent Heavenly W showcased a harmonious connection with a time of 42.37 seconds in the jump-off.
