Senior Irish International dressage rider Anna Merveldt-Steffens had a good weekend in Munich picking up third place in the Grand Prix Special and fourth place in the Grand Prix with the 14 year old Westphalian gelding Fosbury.

This partnership have performed very well over the last month with good placings in both Stadl Paura, Austria and Oldenburg. Fosbury is owned by Anna’s trainer Johann Hinnemann and was added to her string at the end of last year. She had originally planned to go to the Maastricht CDI in The Netherlands but the switch to Indoor Munich proved a good move for Anna with Fosbury placing in the top three in the Grand Prix Special. This was only the gelding’s third outing at this level and in just one month he has placed second (Stadl Paura), sixth (Oldenburg) and third (Munich) – quite a remarkable performance.

Victory in both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special went to German dressage star Isabelle Werth and Apache.
