No one could top Sandra Auffarth and Dörthe Loheit and Marina Köhncke’s 12-year-old Holsteiner gelding Let’s Dance 73’s (Lancer II x Stella VIII) score of 24.9 from yesterday’s dressage competition at the Military Boekelo CCIO4*-L, but British rider Laura Collett and London 52 (Landos x Vernante) came the closest. Collett and her own, Keith Scott, and Karen Bartlett’s 10-year-old Holsteiner gelding laid down a 26.0 for third place heading into tomorrow’s cross-country competition. The pair were winners earlier this year in the Chatsworth CCI4*-S.

Fellow Brit Sarah Bullimore and Corouet (Balou du Rouet x Lilly Corinne), her own, Brett Bullimore, and the Kew Jumping Syndicate’s 8-year-old Oldenburg gelding, were the only other pair to break into the top 10 today, scoring a 26.5 to sit tied for sixth place with Michael Jung and Mitt Hjärta Hästsport and Hälsocenter’s Creevagh Cooley (Camiro de Haar Z x Darragh Field), an 11-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare.

Tamra Smith and Mai Baum (Loredano x Ramira), Eric Markell and Ellen and Alex Ahearn’s 13-year-old German Sport Horse gelding, now sit in eight place on their score of 26.7. Jennie Brannigan and Stella Artois, the Stella Artois Syndicate’s 11-year-old Holsteiner/Thoroughbred mare, are in 31st on 31.3 and Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp and Cooley Quicksilver (Womanizer x Kylemore Crystal), The Monster Partnership’s 8-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding, lie in a four-way tie for 39th on 31.7.

Team reserve rider Matt Flynn and Patrick and Kathleen Flynn and Merry Go Round Farm’s 10-year-old KWPN gelding Wizzerd (Wizzerd x Amai) scored a 32.9 today for 53rd place going into cross-country.

As all FEI Eventing Nations Cup team riders rode yesterday, the team standings from the first day of competition remain unchanged today.
