Tuesday, February 16, 2021 | Debbie Schumann
Kristen VanderVeen (USA) scored the win in the $75,000 WEC – Ocala Grand Prix 1.50m on Sunday, February 14, aboard Bull Run’s Risen, owned by Bull Run Jumpers Inc. “This is actually the first grand prix Bull Run’s Risen has ever won,” VanderVeen said. “It was pretty fun to get to do a speedy jump-off. His stride is so big and the track was set perfectly for him to open up and keep going all the way around. I tried to focus on getting that big gallop and not changing that pace.” Taking second was Molly Ashe Cawley (USA) and Berdien and rounding out the top three was Andre Thieme (GER) and Chakaria.
