Tracey Lert's riding career began with her parents teaching in Pony Club and grew from there. Lert's father, Peter, was one of the early driving forces in dressage. Lert is a well known competitor, instructor, and "S" judge. She has earned her USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals as well as her Silver and Gold Freestyle Bars.

Lert orignally found her mount Udo for a student who was a WEG Gold Medalist in vaulting but decided to ride dressage after her vaulting career ended. Lert became Udo's new owner in 2008 and since then the pair has won many awards together. Most recently they won the Grand Prix Freestyle for Region 7 and the CDS Grand Prix Freestyle at the championship show in 2013. In 2015 Lert decided to compete at the CDI level and focus on Udo's national career.

She has worked in clinics with Conrad Schumacher, Gabriella Grillo, Harry Boldt, Anders Lindgren, Kyra Kyrklund, Robert Dover, Lilo Fore and David Hunt. Tracey currently bases her training program at Sandy Howard's American Sporthorse in Watsonville, CA.
