Sharon Packer - Horse Sports Photography

Sharon Packer of Horse Sports Photography grew up with horses in her life and those early relationships kindled a lifelong affinity. With her history of ownership, competitive riding in the "English" disciplines, understanding of conformation, breeding, and farm management, she brings a knowledge base that is extremely helpful in meeting all of your equine photography needs. Her experience with the horse in sports, allows her to present photographs of horse and rider in moments of perfect point of stride.
After a lengthy career as a licensed professional counselor and nationally board certified school psychologist, Sharon returned to her passion for creativity and horses. She is a national and international award winning equine photographer. She is a self-taught photographer beginning in the 1980's with Olympus SLRs. Her equipment now consists of top-of-the line Canon professional digital cameras and "L" series lenses. Her darkroom is the Apple Mac Pro Tower. Sharon will work with you in her print studio to create artistic portraits on the finest cotton media or luster prints and other fine products through her off site professional print lab.
Artist Statement:
The horse is the subject of my lens and inspiration. Photography enables me to conjoin what the camera records and how I interpret the moment into a synthesis of emotion. My purpose is to find a language in my photographic images with which to share my intense range of feelings in capturing the mystery of this magnificant creature before me.
