Wednesday, August 21, 2013
Country music and equine veterinary medicine will share the spotlight when the American Association of Equine Practitioners’ 59th Annual Convention and Trade Show convenes at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN, December 7-11, 2013. The Annual Convention is the world’s largest continuing education event dedicated to equine veterinary practice and is expected to attract approximately 6,000 equine veterinarians, veterinary students, technicians and exhibitors. Over the course of the five-day event, equine practitioners will raise their expertise across the entire spectrum of equine medicine and leave Nashville empowered with innovative solutions to their practice challenges. Incorporated into the traditional and comprehensive slate of educational sessions focused on pertinent topics in equine veterinary medicine, a social media dry lab will offer practitioners a hands-on opportunity to learn how to develop and implement a social media strategy for their practice. Meanwhile, during “The Business of Practice” sessions, practitioners will acquire the key communication skills necessary to strengthen client relationships and build a culture of success. An expanded student program will help facilitate the transition from veterinary school to practice and a professional development course will address important topics facing impending graduate.
Renowned as the home of country music, Nashville has emerged as a destination beloved for its small-town charm and big-city excitement. With live music around every corner and a thriving restaurant and entertainment scene, Annual Convention attendees will quickly discover why Conde Nast hailed the city as one of the top five travel destinations in the world for 2013 and The New York Times dubbed Nashville the nation’s “it” city earlier this year.
Prospective attendees are encouraged to register by September 1 to save $125. To view the full educational program or register for the meeting, visit www.aaep.org/convention.htm.
