Loxahatchee, FL - The Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center (VTRC) of Loxahatchee, FL, is holding its 23rd Annual Benefit Auction, Dinner and Dance on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the International Polo Club in Wellington, FL, as a fundraiser for the center's therapeutic horseback riding program.

There are many very generous contributors to the benefit's auction this year including one company, Lazcar International, Inc., that is returning for its fifth year of support. Lazcar International is an equine shipping company that provides its clients with first-class worldwide equine air transport. Lazcar's owners, the Alessandrini family, have continued their lasting generosity to the VTRC by providing another great auction item this year. That item, a one horse, one way transport from Miami to either Argentina or Amsterdam or from either Argentina or Amsterdam back to Miami, will be auctioned off to the evening's highest bidder.

Lazcar co-founder, Tony Alessandrini, expressed his gratitude at being able to give back to the community through his company's involvement with the VTRC. "We do a lot of work in the horse community and the Wellington community as a whole, and this is an opportunity for us to give back to both," Alessandrini stated. "Tuny Page is a chairperson for Vinceremos and she is a good client and a good friend of ours, and we fully support the program and what they do." "I like knowing that we are helping the children," Alessandrini continued. "They have a very strong program at the center, and it is an honor for us to give back and be involved with such a good project."

The "Strides of Hope" event will host the annual auction this year with renowned equestrians Mason Phelps, Jr. and Michael Barisone as celebrity auctioneers.

Other members of the equestrian community will also be volunteering their time to help with the benefit. Eight young women, all up and coming riders in the dressage world, will be modeling and promoting some of the more intriguing, high-end auction items. These women who are generously donating their time include: Amanda Stern, Arianne Weiss, Danielle Vallandingham, Philesha Chandler, Erin Sweeny, Sara Anderson, Caroline Roffman, and Crystal Ann Schingler.Several of the riders have volunteered at the center and are great supporters of the program. The "Strides of Hope" event will bring together clients, volunteers, donors, professional riders and community members in the hope of continuing the VTRC purpose: turning disability into ability. Since its inception in 1986, this event has raised more than two million dollars for therapeutic and recreational horseback riding for special needs children and adults of Palm Beach County.

This event is the main source of funding for the VTRC program and enables the Center to provide services to over 350 clients per year through its four different programs: Therapeutic Riding, Hippotherapy, Horses for Heroes and Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy.

Donations for the VTRC "Strides of Hope" auction will be underwritten through the Vankampen Boyer Molinari Charitable Trust.

Lazcar International's generous gift is just one of many great auction items that have been donated this year. Other items up for auction will include: Mounty Cool & Press Boots, donated by Mikala Gundersen; a four day, three night stay at the Sherry Netherlands Hotel in New York City with $1,000 of "Mad Money" to spend, donated by Mr. and Mrs. David Page; a dream dinner at a private estate in the Palm Beach Polo Club, donated by Mr. Fredrick Boyer, Mr. Juan Gomez, Mr. & Mrs. David Page, Mrs. Karen Lloyd, and Mrs. Lee Syben; a Las Vegas World Cup jumping package or dressage package, including two plaza level tickets, two tickets to the Equestrian Aid Foundation party, four nights at the Marriott, and a $500 visa card, donated by the Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center; two Extreme Key West Scooters (50cc), donated by Mad Dog Motorsports; and a chance to be Sheriff for a day, donated by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
