Victims of Fires in Eastern Arizona Need Your Help

Monday, June 13, 2011

The Wallow Fire in Eastern Arizona is huge and uncontained. Hundreds of animals have been displaced as their owners are evacuated.  In talking to the representatives from the Arizona Humane Society and the Arizona Livestock agents who are on site, there are many needs for the displaced animals.
The majority of the large animals, horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and emus are at the Apache County fairgrounds near St Johns. The small animals will be housed in St. Johns and Show Low. Several pharmaceutical companies and veterinary distributors have made generous contributions of medical supplies and vaccines. However, there are basic “housekeeping” supplies that are still needed.

Blankets and towels for dog and cat cages
Disposable cage bedding like puppy pads
Clorox type wipes – any brand
Paper towels
Gallons of disinfectant – Lysol / Simple Green / PineSol, etc.
Cat food – canned and dry
Dog food – canned and dry
Cat litter
Paper plates / paper dishes for feeding
Disposable litter boxes – like cardboard food service trays
Fly spray

It would make such a difference if everyone could donate just one item. If there is anything you want to drop off, you can bring it to Tack Et Cetera.
