USA Equestrian is accepting applications from competitions interested in hosting the USA Reining Seat Medal Finals in 2003. The USA Equestrian Western Council will meet April 25, 2002, in Burbank, California to review applications and choose a new host competition based on location, date, competition facility and management and competition history. All competitions are encouraged to apply.

If you are interested in receiving an application to host the Finals class, please contact Christina Stewart cstewart@equestrian.org or phone 859.225.6968 or write to 4047 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington, KY 40511. Applications to host the Finals must be received by April 15, 2002.

The USA Reining Seat Medal is part of the historical Federation Medal Equitation program. The Reining Seat Medal combines the customary reining maneuvers with equitation to create a picture of complete horsemanship. The USA Reining Seat Medal class is open to junior exhibitor and amateur riders showing any breed of horse. Qualifying classes may be held at USA Equestrian competitions as well as non-member competitions, such as the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA), National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) and American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) shows.
