US Athletes To Compete at Aachen and HorsesDaily Is on The Scene

CHIO Aachen competition continues through Sunday, July 21, with the dressage, driving, eventing, and jumping competitions. The Dutta U.S. Dressage Team, the U.S. Driving Team, the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team, and the NetJetsĀ® U.S. Jumping Team will compete in FEI Nations Cup competition. The following is the U.S. roster and competition background.
Dressage
The following athlete-horse combinations will comprise The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team for FEI Dressage Nations Cup⢠Germany led by Chef dāEquipe Debbie McDonald:
Katherine Bateson-Chandler (Wellington, Fla.) and Alcazar, Jane Clarkās 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding
Shelly Francis (Loxahatchee, Fla.) and Danilo, Patricia Stempelās 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding
Adrienne Lyle (Wellington, Fla.) and Salvino, Betsy Juliano LLCās 12-year-old Hanoverian stallion
Steffen Peters (San Diego, Calif.) and Suppenkasper, Four Winds Farm and Akiko Yamazakiās 11-year-old KWPN gelding
The FEI Dressage Nations Cup Germany will consist of the Grand Prix CDIO5* on Thursday, July 18, and the Grand Prix Special CDIO5* on Saturday, July 20. The Grand Prix Freestyle CDIO5* will take place on Sunday, July 21, for individual honors.
The following U.S. dressage athlete-horse combination will compete in the Aachen CDI4*:
Adrienne Lyle and Harmonyās Duval, Duval Partners LLCās 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding
Driving
The following athletes and their team of horses will compete in the FEI Driving Nations Cup Aachen CAIO4* led by Chef dāEquipe Marcie Quist:
Chester Weber (Ocala, Fla.) competing with his team of horses: Amadeus, a 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding; Boris W, a 13-year-old KWPN gelding; First Edition, a 10-year-old KWPN gelding; Gouveneur, an eight-year-old KWPN gelding; and Reno, a 10-year-old gelding of unknown breeding
Misdee Wrigley-Miller (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) competing with her team of horses: Alonso, a 10-year-old KWPN gelding; Bravour 54, a 13-year-old KWPN gelding; and Daan 8, an 11-year-old KNHS gelding. She will also compete with Zindgraaf, Exell Holding BVās 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, and Flash 279, Georg von Steinās 12-year-old gelding of unknown breeding
The FEI Driving Nations Cup Aachen CAIO4* will begin Thursday, July 18, with driven dressage followed by the marathon phase on Saturday. The competition will conclude on Sunday, July 21, with the cones phase.
Eventing
The following athlete-horse combinations will comprise the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team for the FEI Eventing Nations Cup⢠Aachen CCIO4*-S led by Chef dāEquipe Erik Duvander:
Phillip Dutton (West Grove, Pa.) and Z, an 11-year-old Zangersheide gelding owned by Thomas Tierney, Simon Roosevelt, Suzanne Lacy, Caroline Moran, and Ann Jones
Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp (Ocala, Fla.) and Deniro Z, The Deniro Syndicate & Ocala Horse Propertiesā 11-year-old KWPN gelding
Caroline Martin (Miami Beach, Fla.) and Islandwood Captain Jack, a 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding owned by Caroline and Sherrie Martin
Originally selected to compete, Tamie Smith (Murrieta, Calif.) withdrew Wembley, Kevin Baumgardnerās 16-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, due to a minor veterinary concern. In the best interest of the team and Wembley, Smith will rest him in preparation for future events. The FEI Eventing Nations Cup Aachen CCIO4*-S will take place July 19 and 20. The dressage and jumping phases will take place Friday, July 19, while the cross-country phase will close out the competition on Saturday, July 20.
Jumping
The following athletes will comprise the NetJets U.S. Jumping Team for FEI Jumping Nations Cup⢠Aachen CSIO5* led by Chef dāEquipe Robert Ridland:
