Unexpected Early Death of More Magic

More Magic, a successful mount for Bethany Peslar in Brentina Cup and Grand Prix competitions in the United States, died unexpectedly of cancer at age 17.  The Westfalian gelding by Maraschino xx was sold to Everglades Dressage, LLC which is also the name of the spectacular Peslar family stables in Wellington, in April. 2006.

The horse had been owned by Dan Trierweiler, who bought it from Johan Hinnemann’s stable in Germany for Christine Traurig to ride in 2003. More Magic was trained to Grand Prix by Dutch Coby van Baalen.

Bethany Peslar and More Magic were reserve champion in the 2006 USET Foundation Festival of Champions National Young Adult “Brentina Cup” championship.

Peslar, now aged 27, began showing More Magic at Grand Prix in 2007 taking second place in the Grand Prix Special at CDI3* Saugerties, N.Y. and 3rd place in the Grand Prix Special at CDI3* Dressage at Devon, Penn.

More Magic and Peslar placed second in the Grand Prix Special at the highly competitive Palm Beach Derby this year.
