GenaVaughn and Donarweiss GGF Receive the Transformer Sporthorse of the Week Award during week seven.

Wellington, FL - Donarweiss GGF is likely everyone’s image of what author William Farley’s iconic “Black Stallion” probably looked like - a beautiful 16hh ebony stallion with a stunning white blaze.

Sixteen-year old Donarweiss GGF and 23-year-old rider Genay Vaughn were recognized with the TransFormer Equine™ Sport Horse of the Week Award during Week 7 of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, Florida. The pair are already blazing a trail in the Under 25 Division in dressage, recently premiering in the FEI YR Grand Prix 16-25 on Friday and earning an average score of 61.966 percent, and continuing their success in the Grand Prix Freestyle on Sunday with an average score of 66.666 percent, placing fifth in both events.

Donarweiss GGF (Deniro x SPS Highlight), a 16-year-old Hanoverian, is owned by Starr Vaughn Equestrian Inc. in Elk Grove, CA where Genay’s mother, Michelle Vaughn, is a trainer and dressage rider. “My mom started riding dressage when I was little which had a big influence on me. I started riding when I was four years old,” says Genay. “I love that in dressage you become one with the horse and that you never stop learning new things. I love how connected you become with your horse and how you begin to know every feeling and how they know exactly how you are feeling too. It’s almost like you and your horse are becoming one person.”

Donarweiss GGF was bred in the USA by Rachel Erlich of Greengate Farm LLC.  In 2005, he was the Champion stallion of his 30-Day Performance Test.  His scores were trot-8.5, canter-8, walk 8.5, jumping-9/8 and rideability-9.

Genay has owned “D.W.”, as he’s known in the barn, for seven years. Despite her young age, Genay already has had some monumental achievements. She’s already taken steps toward her lifelong goal of representing the United States in international competition.  She was selected for the first-ever United States Under 25 Grand Prix team to compete in Europe. Her goals this year are to get good scores so that she can repeat the opportunity to compete in Europe. “Donarweiss is amazing and I love everything about him, especially his personality,” Genay said.

The Sport Horse of the Week Award at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival is sponsored by TransFormer Equine™, Arthrocize™ is an all-natural joint health supplement. Arthrocize features 225 mg per ounce of the highest purity and lowest molecular weight Sodium Hyaluronate (HA). Smaller molecules equals superior digestibility and fast results. In most cases, results are normally visible in three to five days.

While Genay hasn’t used the products yet, she’s looking forward to trying new products that can help keep D.W. happy, healthy and having fun doing dressage.
