NORTH AMERICAN AFFILIATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Oklahoma City, Okla.- The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) is proud to announce the newest champions crowned at this year’s Adequan North American Affiliate Championships.
Wimpys Whiz Steps, the flashy 7-year-old palomino stallion by NRHA Eight Million Dollar Sire Wimpys Little Step and out of RC Sonita Whiz (by Whizard Jac), owned by Gail Hutcherson, left his mark in the Adequan Championship Arena today. With NRHA Professional Tom Foran in the saddle, he claimed the NAAC Novice Horse Open Level 2 title with a score of 212, taking home $911.80.
“This is a wonderful horse owned by great people, Bob and Gail Hutcherson. I originally bought him a few years ago for actor Silvester Stallone. When ‘Sly’ decided to sell him, Bob and Gail, who have always liked him, wanted to buy him. I thought that he would be good for Gail, and he has been. She has in fact been showing him in the Green As Grass and Rookie classes. What’s great is that he then comes back and shows in the open classes for me! He’s a fantastic, sweet, kind horse and I couldn’t be any happier,” claimed Tom who qualified at the Southwest Affiliate Regional Championship and who rode for the California Reining Horse Association.
For the win, Foran took home a Bob’s Custom Saddle, a Montana Silversmiths Custom Trophy Buckle, a Classic Equine product, a Platinum Performance product, a pair of Anderson Bean Boots, an Adequan product, a $150 SmartPak Gift Card, an embroidered halter provided by Markel, a blanket from Avila Pro Shop and Bluebonnet Feed.
Claiming the Reserve championship was Johnette Burman riding Dreamin About Wimpy, a 4-year-old stallion by Wimpys Little Step and out of Valentine Dreamin (by Magnum Chic Dream). Burman, from Helena, MT, qualified at the Southwest Affiliate Regional Championship and rode for the Arizona Reining Horse Association. He was awarded a Montana Silversmiths Custom Trophy Buckle, a Classic Equine product, an Adequan product, an embroidered Halter provided by Markel, a blanket from Avila Pro Shop and Bluebonnet Feed supply.
