Steve Wilson - USEF Advanced Pairs Combined Driving National Champion

Steve Wilson (Louisville, Ky.) claimed his fourth USEF Advanced Pairs Combined Driving National Championship after a dazzling performance in the final cones phase with Favory Fantom, his 12-year-old Lippizaner gelding, and Favory Fáraó, his 17-year-old Lippizaner gelding.
Aiming for the FEI World Pair Driving Championships Drebkau 2019 (GER) 11 September 2019 - 15 September 2019, the National Championships is sure to secure a position on the US Driving Team.
With four balls coming down and an addition of 8.4 time penalties, Wilson captures the title on 203.91 points. He also celebrated his success with his grandson, 18-year-old Avery Wilson, who also won this weekend in the Intermediate Pairs division.
"The course here was extremely advanced, and I'm always intent on doing the best I can," Wilson said. "This was a day to be doubly nervous because Avery (Wilson's Grandson) was competing in the Intermediate division. He won, so that was a good inspiration for me. I was delighted, and really proud of Avery and his accomplishments. He helped me win as well."
Wilson debuted at the FEI Pair Driving World Championship in 2017 in Lipica, Slovenia with his horses Endorro, eight-year-old KWPN gelding, Favory Franky, 15 –year-old Lippizan gelding and Mr. Lindsey G, 13-year-old Lippizan gelding.
Steve Wilson, co-owns Hermitage Farm in Goshen, KY with his wife Laura Lee Brown. Hermitage Farm is a historic thoroughbred breeding farm and also houses Steve’s driving horses. Steve has been driving for the past eight years.
