Katy, TX - The Spring Gathering Charity Horse Show is pleased to announce that its weeklong hunter/jumper event will be part of the Texas High Performance Series. The series lasts for three weeks and is paired with the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show which will take place March 23-April 3, 2011, followed by the Spring Gathering Charity Horse Show April 5-10, 2011. The Texas High Performance Series more than half a million dollars in prize money for hunters and jumpers, and all three weeks of competition will be taking place at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in beautiful Katy, Texas.
The Texas High Performance Series includes new prize money for jumpers in 2011: a $15,000 Jumper Rider Bonus- $5,000 goes to the Leading Open Jumper Rider, $5,000 to the Leading Low Jr./AO Jumper Rider, and $5,000 to the Leading High Jr./AO Jumper Rider.
For hunter riders in 2011, there will be a $20,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby joins the roster, with fences from 3' 0" to 3' 3". Until a cure is found, people with Type 1 Diabetes have to test their blood sugar and give themselves insulin injections multiple times each day or use a pump - each and every day of their lives. Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with Type 1 Diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1.5 billion to diabetes research, including more than $107 million last year. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly support research and research-related education.
