Wellington, FL – Excitement builds and determination shows as six young equestrians prepare to make their first-ever appearance in the annual Challenge of the Americas. Team Off the Record will debut at the 2014 Challenge of the Americas (COTA), held at the International Polo Club in Wellington. Showchic proudly sponsors this team of dressage riders who are all under the age of 30. At this event, they will perform the stunning quadrilles that the Challenge of the Americas is known for while raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Showchic demonstrates a desire to give back to the community by becoming a team sponsor for this year’s Challenge, which is one of the biggest equine-related fundraisers in the United States. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the Play for P.I.N.K. organization. Michelle Hundt, owner of Showchic, says, “We are very excited to be sponsoring the Young Rider Team for Challenge of the Americas. Not only is the Challenge an event the entire community eagerly anticipates all season, it raises money for a worthy cause.”

Besides contributing to such an important cause, Showchic is also happy to be supporting a newer, young generation of dressage riders. The members of Team Off the Record are Kevin Kohmann, Mary Bahniuk Lauritsen, Holly Johnson, Paula Matute, Hannah Michaels, and Endel Ots (who is also the team’s coach, choreographer, and music mixer). They will take on the two veteran teams, Team Purina USA and Team International, both which have been competitors in the Challenge for several years. Despite the talented competition, the amount of preparation and dedication that Showchic’s six riders have shown suggests that they do not plan to stay “off the record” for long. They spend hours practicing intricate quadrilles at Everglades Dressage, an elite dressage facility in Wellington. Team Off the Record is extremely grateful to Everglades Dressage for graciously allowing them to practice there both day and night.

Which team will ride out as quadrille champion at this year’s Challenge of the Americas on March 7? Wellington’s International Polo Club will be full of spectators enjoying a beautiful performance while showing their support and raising funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Showchic and Team Off the Record are excited to be part of this spectacular event.
