Wellington, FL - Qualifying for gold is on the minds of many World Equestrian Games hopefuls at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida, but one horse-and-rider that have already proven their luster are Scott Hassler and Harmony’s Diamo Gold, recipients of the Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award during week ten of the prestigious international show.
The 17.1 hand, 11 year-old dark bay 1st Premium Oldenburg (Dimaggio x Elfe x Ex Libris) stallion ridden by Hassler for Harmony Sporthorses, was a commanding presence in the CDI* FEI Prix St George, placing fourth (67.794%) out of a substantial field of 26 elite challengers but, in the opinion of Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals Inc. they finished an unparalleled first in healthy glow and carriage, to be presented with the company’s Healthy Horse Award for week ten of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival.
“Thank you, because we have used Omega Alpha products for years, and really believe in them,” Hassler said. “Coming from me, that’s a true statement because I’m not a big believer in most of these things, but chill™ calming formula is one heck of a good product.”
In 2006, Hassler became the USEF National Young Horse Coach, later creating the inaugural Young Dressage Horse Trainers Symposium (YDHTS) and he has continued to remain instrumental in creating a pipeline of national programs that recognize and encourage horses and riders that have drawn on his own experiences under the late German master Herbert Rehbein, where he learned to develop stallions to Grand Prix and orchestrate harmonious relationships between breeding horses and international sport.
In 2015, Hassler returned to the dressage ring with two exceptional horses, including Harmony’s Diamo Gold. “Diamo Gold,” Hassler said, “won our hearts from the first moment we met him. His charming disposition, lovely way of going, and obvious talent made him an easy choice in our search for an international star. In 2011, he was the Oldenburg Regional Champion, first qualifying him for the German Nationals. He confirmed his elite caliber by qualifying for the Bundeschampionat for a third year in a row in 2013 with an overall score of 8.4, and a 9.5 for his trot. The VhW also licensed him – a coup for an Oldenburg branded stallion. He is a wonderful stallion.”
In addition to celebrating the healthy luster of Harmony’s Diamo Gold, Omega Alpha celebrated the solid-gold style of its Canadian riders Megan Lane and Belinda Trussll. Lane, a Pan American and Olympic Games veteran, piloted her 17 year-old KWPN (Contango x Riverman) mare, Caravella to her first win of the year (71.617%) in the CDI3* Grand Prix Special and rode San D’Or to fifth in the CDI4* on San D’Or. Trussell rode Tattoo 15, her 15 year-old Westfalian (xTuareg) gelding, to a reserve in the CDI3* on a strong 70.34%. To see more follow this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njbyT_N60kM
