Custom Saddlery - the Official Saddle for the United States Dressage Team through the 2016 Olympics - firmly believes that, first and foremost, every saddle should be a perfect fit for both horse and rider. The Aiken, South Carolina based company is internationally known for its quality saddles, all of which are anatomically designed for a custom fit. To help riders find the perfect saddle for their specific needs, Custom Saddlery has brought in Alis Carbone to join its team of nationwide Custom fitters. Carbone and her saddlefitting expertise can be found in the southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico regions. An experienced equestrian, Alis Carbone knows the importance of having a saddle that fits just right. She grew up riding hunter/jumpers, and after a brief stint in eventing, she discovered a love for dressage.

“I have come up through the ranks from training level to FEI, competed at NAJYRC on a self trained horse, and continue to ride, train, and compete still today,” said Carbone, who believes her experience as a FEI rider and competitor is a great advantage to her now as a saddle fitter. “I understand the importance of our position as riders and what we need from a saddle in order to clearly communicate effectively with our horses,” she explained. “It also gives me a better understanding to the importance of what our horses need from a saddle in order to be able to properly use their bodies to be successful and stay sound.”

Carbone was given extensive on-site training at Custom Saddlery’s east coast home base, where she studied the ins and outs of saddle making and learned from the company’s qualified saddle makers how each product is assembled from the beginning. “This insider’s view really allowed me to get to know our products and understand and learn the work that goes in to making each and every one,” said Carbone. “On top of that, I have worked extensively in the field training with Sara Boothe, one of Custom’s experienced and talented fitters.”

Like many of the world’s top show jumpers and dressage riders, Carbone prefers Custom Saddlery saddles. She is thrilled at the opportunity to work for and endorse the brand. “Cary is a innovative genius when it comes to staying ahead of the curve in everything that is saddles,” she said of Cary Wallace, President of Custom Saddlery. “With our wide range of models and customization specifics, the possibilities really are just about endless. This really allows us to be able to find the perfect match for you and your equine partner. Not to mention we are adding so many beautiful extra touches to our saddles now— from crystals, to patent, to a wide range of stitch and welt coloring and so much more. These saddles are truly a work of art.”

Carbone looks forward to helping riders in the southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico area select the right saddle for their unique needs and preferences. “I want each and every one of my clients to succeed, and it is my honor that Custom Saddlery chose me to be a part of that,” she said. “I will do my very best to attend to all my client’s saddle and fitting needs and strive for a happy client and horse out of every single one of you. I really can not wait to get to know you and your horse and help you succeed in whatever your goals may be.”

In addition to exceptionally designed saddles for both dressage and jumping, Custom Saddlery offers a range of quality saddle accessories including girths, dressage pads, and stirrup leathers.
