New Digs for HorsesDaily.com from Gigi's RV Sales of Broward

May, 2005 - It’s that time of year when we shift gears, into overdrive and hit the road to visit new territories, and find more stories for our websites DressageDaily.com and HorsesDaily.com. And we do so this season in a beautiful new 35’ RV recently purchased from Gigi Stetler of RV Sales of Broward, Florida. We chose the 35’ Carriage Cameo, Stetler had as her “demo model” which was set up at the Littlewood Horse Show grounds off of 50th Street in Wellington, Florida.

Stetler known well in the Hunter Jumper circles not only sells RVs, campers and horse trailers she also provides much needed temporary housing for road weary competitors and their grooms by setting up her large inventory of campers at locations in Florida, Kentucky, Lake Placid, and Saugerties where the HITS summer circuit is about to begin. In many cases she provides the linens and basic kithcen utensils.

Gigi just loaded over 150 custom designed 18’ units on a freighter to a secret undisclosed location for the housing of the crew of next Survivor television show. She couldn’t tell us where they were going after signing a $5 million non disclosure contract, but could say she got the contract, and designed the units to the specifications of the production company.

With a string of hunters and jumpers, Stetler currently trains with Nona Garson, and follows the circuit to Lake Placid, and the summer HITS Saugerties Series. But with a young son, and locations in Broward and West Palm Beach, the recently engaged entreprenuer and equestrian, spends most of her time in Florida.

Stetler built a campground at the Littlewood showgrounds which is also near the Wellington arenas. With rows of hooks up for RV’s, she sets up a large inventory of used and new campers which she rents for the season to competitors and grooms. Keeping a demo model on the grounds, Stetler has her own weekend home, and office right next to her stalls.

We traded in our 33’ Alpenlite which had faithfully served us for the past 4 years, and upgraded to our beautiful new Carriage Cameo fifth wheel with four slide outs expanding the interior square footage larger than most New York City apartments!

With a beautiful master bedroom and loads of closet and storage space, full kitchen and large “sunken living room” we have all the comforts of home; A good thing, because it is our home for over 200 days a year we are on the road, on the scene, and on the net.

But I haven’t told you the best. We also have a complete entertainment center with surround sound, computer station wired for mobile high speed internet access, and a fireplace (powered by propane). Gigi was on the ball from showing us the wide selection of new and used campers, to preparing ours for moving in, which included installing a large Onan generator. Now no matter where we are, with the simple flick of the switch we have power, coming from the quiet and powerful generator. And when we had some issues getting used to how to use it, her friendly staff was available at 8AM in the morning when we called from Kentucky.

Dealing with Gigi was the easiest business transaction we have ever made. We were referred to her by Tim Dutta who purchases a new RV from her every two years. Gigi also let us know that no matter where we are on the road, help will not be far away either from her staff, or the large network she has throughout the country. She can also deliver, usually within 48 hours.

So if you visit us somewhere "On the Scene" and get a camper tour, you just might have to have one too. If so Gigi can get it to you, pronto. We were always able to reach her either on her cell phone, or through her office, and the financing and paperwork was a snap. RV’s can be financed just like a second mortgage, over 12 years. In many cases the interest can also be deducted, as an RV can be considered a second home. In our case, with the trade in value of our previous camper, and the great deal we got from Gigi by buying her demo model, our monthly payments to live in this luxurious environment is under $400!

So for those of you considering winter in Florida next season, or like the idea of having luxurious accommodations right near your horses at shows, Gigi Stetler at RV Sales of Broward just might be the best logical solution. She can set you up, with either a rental or a sale, and deliver and set up your mobile studio apartment either at her campgrounds or at Lion Country Safari KOA, near White Fences, where we stay. But you better hurry, as seasonal rentals are almost booked, as the RV lifestyle gains in popularity with horse show travelers. We have reserved a seasonal spot there for next season beginning in November. If this is your plan, now is the time to make a move as almost all locations are booked for 2005!
