The Ridge at Wellington Turf Tour Heads to The Wanderer's Club For Fifth Week of Competition

Wellington, FL - The Ridge at Wellington's Turf Tour is travelling to The Wanderer's Club for its fifth week of competition. This week's events will take place on Wednesday, February 4 and Saturday, February 7. The Wanderer's Club will host two very exciting days of competition. Wednesday's highlights include several Young Jumper Championship Qualifiers, Schooling Jumpers, and 1.30-1.35m classes. Saturday's wide variety of classes, including Children/Adult, Masters, Junior/Amateur-Owner and Schooling Jumper options in addition to the Grand Prix is sure to be popular with amateurs and professionals alike.

Wednesday will have just under $5,000 in prize money up for grabs in the 1.30-1.35m jumpers and $2,500 in the Young Jumper division. There will be $15,000 in prize money offered for Saturday's 1.40m Grand Prix and $7,000 offered between the various other divisions that day.

The Wanderer's Club will welcome riders this Wednesday and Saturday to the fifth week of the Ridge at Wellington's Turf Tour. The Tour is a unique series designed to develop upcoming talent in both horses and riders and provide a change in venue for all riders. The series offers unrivaled hospitality with a relaxed atmosphere as a fresh experience outside of WEF. On Wednesday, the grand prix field will see horses and riders competing in 1.30-1.35m jumpers with an open card running from 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.

The second ring will see low schooling and 5-year-old jumpers from 8 am until 10:30. Medium schooling and 6 year-old jumpers will run from 11 am until 1:30 pm. 7 & 8 year-old jumpers will run in the afternoon from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.. Each division has two classes running concurrently with open cards. The Young Jumper Division will have one class run as Power and Speed and a second class that will be a qualifier for Young Jumper Championships. The 6-year-old qualifying class has $500 in prize money and the 7 & 8-year-old class offers $2000.

Saturday's events promise to be exciting, with the $15,000 1.40m Grand Prix running from 8 am through 4:30 pm on the turf field. The second ring will begin at 8 am, with both children/adult and masters jumper classes, along with a classic round for both divisions, running concurrently with open cards until noon.  In addition, there will be a low schooling jumper division with two classes running concurrently offered at this height. The $2,000 Child and Adult Classic is pointed from Marshall & Sterling, NAL & WIHS. The $2,000 Master's Jumper Classic, open to riders 50 and over, is also pointed from Marshall & Sterling, NAL & WIHS. The Junior/Amateur-Owners will start at 12:30 p.m. and run until 4:30, with both the regular class and classic card open concurrently. The $3000 Junior and Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic is NAL pointed. Medium schooling jumpers will also be offered with cards running concurrently.

In addition to the two days of jumper competition offered this week at The Wanderer's Club, there will also be a full day of hunter competition at The Ridge at Wellington on Friday, February 6, 2015. The Ridge is proud to offer their first-class $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby and $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, transforming both the sand ring and grass derby field into traditional hunt scenes with some of the finest derby horses in Wellington competing for the top prizes.

The event is approaching quickly, so riders should get their entries in to avoid post-entry fees. Week five of the Ridge at Wellington's Turf Tour will take place at The Wanderer's Club.
