Richie Moloney Wins Hollow Brook Associates 1.45m Jumper Class

Lake Placid, New York—July 8, 2011— Richie Moloney of Ireland swept the top two places in the Hollow Brook Associates 1.45m Jumper Class Friday at the 34th annual Intercat, Inc. I Love New York Horse Show. Moloney, runner-up in Sunday’s $75,000 Mirror Lake Inn Grand Prix of Lake Placid, rode clean on two mounts, Slieveanorra and Ahorn Van De Zuuthoeve, over the nine-jump power portion of the course at the North Elba Showgrounds.  Midway through the class, he took the lead on Ahorn Van De Zuuthoeve with a clean ride in 42.650 seconds over the seven-jump speed section.

Moloney returned as the final rider in the class and dropped his first mount to second place and claimed the win with another clean ride, finishing in 42.409 seconds on Slieveanorra. Other classes on Friday saw wins by Laura Chapot on Bradberry in the ROOST 1.40m Jumper Class; Madeline Cox on Kix in the Deeridge Farms High Amateur-Owner Jumper Class; Laura Chapot on Zealous in the Jamaica Tent 1.35m Open Jumper Class; and Michael Hughes on Vendicat in the Low Junior Jumper Class..The 34th annual Intercat, Inc. I Love New York Horse Show runs through Sunday and is highlighted by the $75,000 Woodlea Farms Grand Prix, presented by Intercat Inc., on Saturday.  The start of the Grand Prix has been moved to 3:00 pm.  Following the Grand Prix, the Richard and Diana Feldman Perpetual Challenge Trophy for Excellence will be awarded to the rider who has won the most combined prize money in Lake Placid’s two Grand Prix.Saturday also features the horse show’s 19th Annual Doggie Costume Contest, sponsored by the Foster Family, the Brown Dog Café and Wine Bar, and A Placid Life/Jake Placid Doghouse.  All people with a leashed dog in costume will be admitted to the horse show free of charge.  Entry in the contest is also free and there are prizes for all entries.  The contest begins at 12:00 noon and registration is at 11:30 am.
