Price of Success – Sponsor Support a Needed Equation

Trainer/Rider David Blake
"It’s so incredibly expensive to own two horses and compete them at this level." Blake reveals. "Often, I have been given the advise to sell in order to make money. However without Catapult and Lord Albert, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Travel expenses to Kentucky and Germany came from our own pockets and from generous donations from friends and family."

Lord Albert qualified for the Developing Horse Championships in Illinois but unfortunately, Blake could not afford to go. "That was a tough decision." admits Blake. "Hopefully, competing in CDI’s will attract more financial and product sponsorships."

"I’m ever grateful to Sharon Garner of Garner Creek Farms in Ranger, Texas who sponsors me for giving me the chance to showcase her incredible breeding stallion, Falsterbo. And as the former owner of Lord Albert, Sharon is responsible for my riding two Pan Am hopefuls! I am very grateful to have her in my corner.

Blake is on list of high performance riders for the Medal Equestrian Foundation. The program offers potential sponsors a tax deduction for the contributions, making it easy to help riders fulfill their dreams.
