Chrissa F. Hoffmann

After the her successful 2009 Florida winter season, Chrissa Hoffman returned to her Glenfield Farm in Kentucky to prepare for the summer shows.

In May, Chrissa brought Michelle Gibson of Wellington, Florida, to her farm to conduct a clinic. Chrissa is planning to bring Michelle back to Kentucky in October. “She has an amazing feel for a horse and rider and gets the best out of both each and every lesson,” Chrissa noted.

Chrissa has also kept in touch with Steffen Peters, whom she met this past winter, and has arranged to bring him to Kentucky in November.

At their first outing during the summer show season, Chrissa and Ferrelli added another victory to their Grand Prix record when they competed at the Cincinnati Dressage Classic in June. The duo topped the roster with a score of 65.70%.

At the end of June, Chrissa and Ferrelli were invited to ride in the Robert Dover World Tour Symposium in Wilmington, Ohio. Robert had worked with Chrissa and Ferrelli previously and was impressed with their progress. On his website, Dover’s World, Robert described the horses and riders in his Symposium and commented, “ … Chrissa Hoffman’s green Grand Prix horse, F. Ferrelli, thrilled me with their potential.”

Looking ahead to her future with Ferrelli, Chrissa notes, “We completed our first season competing at Grand Prix in 2009 and he was very green. Of course the World Cup or the World Equestrian Games would be great in 2010, but realistically, Ferrelli is a green Grand Prix horse. I’m excited about next year and how the Grand Prix will be in his second season.”

A new horse that will accompany the Glenfield Farm team to Florida in 2010 is Korrado owned by rider/trainer and friend Nicole Levy. Chrissa’s working student Geena Sturzebecher will campaign Korrado, aiming to qualify for the 2010 North American Young Riders Championships. “Nicole competed Korrado as a Young Rider and she is now graciously allowing Geena to campaign him,” Chrissa said. “Korrado was a Bronze Medal horse with Nikki at the 2003 NAYRC.  We are very excited and grateful to Nikki for giving Geena this wonderful opportunity!”
