At the Klimke-Hassler Dressage Training Symposium, Janet Youse won a customized $500 gift package of Omega Alpha supplements for her horses
Chesapeake City, MD — The grand oaks and maple trees of Hassler Dressage at Riveredge showed off their stunning fall colors to more than 250 riders and auditors who gathered for the inaugural Klimke-Hassler Dressage Training Symposium this autumn in Chesapeake City, Maryland.
They came to learn from Michael Klimke, German dressage master, and Scott Hassler, former U.S. Equestrian Federation Young Horse Coach. As longtime friends and colleagues, both men are successful Grand Prix competitors in addition to being movers and shakers in their respective dressage community – Klimke in Europe and Hassler in North America. Their goal: to inspire better training from in-hand work with young horses to the top levels of the sport.
Ten horse and rider combinations took part in the symposium as Klimke and Hassler instructed. Known for their patience and tact with horses, Klimke and Hassler advised students to enjoy their rides while consistently following classical dressage training principles. Participants were treated to Hassler riding Harmony’s Star Agent, a 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Sandro Hit x Argentinus). In addition, Hassler’s daughter, Sara Hassler, demonstrated brilliant piaffe and passage aboard Harmony’s Davidoff Hit, a 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding by Don Davidoff out of a Sandro Hit mare.
As participants watched and learned about making each horse the best it could be, Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a company that specializes in natural equine supplements, felt right at home.
“We were so thrilled to have Omega Alpha as one of our spotlight sponsors of this event,” said Susanne Hassler (Director of Operations, Marketing, and Events at Hassler Dressage, Scott’s wife, and an international competitor in her own right). “I am an avid user of Omega Alpha products. Anyone can look in our dispensary or feed rooms – and many people did during the seminar – and see the full line up of Omega Alpha products there and see that we really depend on them. We love the fact that the products are all-natural and herbal-based.”

Omega Alpha gave out exciting prize baskets of all-natural equine health supplements at the inaugural Klimke-Hassler Dressage Training Symposium
Scott and Susanne Hassler are official Omega Alpha Ambassadors, so having the company sponsor this event was a natural match. “With Omega Alpha products, we’ve had really good luck with so many things from allergy control detoxification and hind-gut health as well as joint and respiratory issues. So it was great to have Omega Alpha here at our inaugural training symposium,” said Susanne Hassler.
Omega Alpha sponsored the event’s luncheon and gave an educational seminar on the company’s natural formulations for enhancing equine health and performance. “They also raffled off two baskets full of products during the evening lecture and discussion,” Susanne Hassler added. As the participants enjoyed the seminar, Omega Alpha also gave away lots of samples and educational material.
The company’s big grand prize giveaway was a customized $500 gift package of supplements specifically designed for one lucky rider’s horses. The winner was Janet Youse, a U.S. Dressage Federation Certified Instructor through Level 4 as well as a silver medalist, who runs her 75-acre Heavenbound Farm in Rome, Pennsylvania. Youse now has the opportunity to choose a selection of Omega Alpha products for her horses. The company’s products help with joint health, calming, respiratory health, hoof care, hormonal health, energy, performance, muscle rehabilitation, detoxification, and more, so Youse will have plenty to choose from.
Look to Hassler Dressage’s Facebook page for photos, videos, and a podcast of the evening’s lecture featuring both Klimke and Hassler. Also, in January, the entirety of the 2016 KHDTS will be available for online viewing at the new Library section of the Hassler Dressage website. This is the first of many educational seminars featuring the two friends, whose sharing of their dressage training system will benefit many more participants and their horses in the future.
